Twix Brownies...TDF!!! (to die for...)

I know I promised a recipe for some Twix Brownies a few weeks ago... well here it is finally :)

Be warned though... it is pretty time consuming to make.  Total form start to finish it was about 4 hours.  This included mixing, baking, cooling, etc.  Totally worth it though and everyone should make a batch.  Then call me when you do so I can come over and have a bar.  So delicious and absolutely to DIE for!

Twix Brownies

Crust
1 (12.8) package of Simply Sandies
6 T Butter

Brownie
1 box Brownie Mix (Ghiradelli of course!)
Ingredients called for on Brownie Box
1/4 cup hot fudge ice cream topping (I cut this in half, as I use the fudge brownie mix)

Caramel Layer
1 (14 oz.) bag of caramels (yup, I individually unwrapped EACH caramel, worth it)
2 T milk

Chocolate Topping
1 (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips
2 T Butter
1/4 cup Milk

Use a 9x13 baking pan, coat in PAM.
Crust: Use a food processor to pulse cookies until they resemble sand.  Melt butter, add to cookie crumbs.  Stir until all crumbs are moist.  Press down in bottom of baking pan.
Brownies: Prepare brownie batter as directed on the box.  Mix in 1/4 cups hot fudge into batter.  Pour batter on top of cookie crust and bake according to Brownie box.  Let cool.
Caramels: Place caramels and milk into saucepan.  Cook over medium-low heat until melted and creamy.  Stir CONSTANTLY.  Pour over brownies.  Spread caramels evenly across brownies.  Let cool.
Chocolate Topping: Melt chocolate chips, butter, and milk together over medium-low heat.  Stir occasionally until melted and creamy.  Pour over caramel layer.  Cover as much of the brownies as possibly.  Cool.

Do I need to say anything else about how amazing these are?  So delicious and totally not low-cal.  It may take awhile to make because you have to wait layers to cool, but it is worth the wait.  They were a real crowd pleaser and family dinner with my parents and grandparents.  My Grandpa even asked for seconds. :)

Do enjoy!
