On our first day, we were all so tired from traveling that we didn't do a whole lot. We had to wake up at 4am to get to the airport for our flight-- which included a stop in Chicago AND D.C. before finally arriving in Savannah. We were all very tired. Then my sister didn't get in until almost 2AM because the United Airlines computer systems went down. So my parents and sister did not arrive back to the condo until 3am. Safe to say that the first day of vacation was full of lounging around and naps.
Chris and I took a nice bikeride to Harbour Town on HHI. There are bike trails all over the place, so it's easy to get anywhere by bike. Though it was extrememly HOT-- record HIGHS while were there:
Naturally, we had to make our annual trip to the Salty Dog store. I bought myself a sweatshirt (gray, of course) and we got Charlie some dog treats. It was extremely hot with no wind while we were down there, so we didn't stay too long :)
We saw lots of jellyfish on the beach-- I got stung 11 (!) years ago in HHI and I am still scarred. So, safe to say that I just go in the pool and only walk on the beach.
Overall, it was such a great vacation. It's always nice to spend a week with the family and to get away from out every day life. Sometimes I feel like we get in such a routine and it's healthy to get away and break that routine. I got LOTS of reading done on vacation and will post later about what books I read.
More pictures are on facebook, these are just a few of the highlights!
